Strategic Planning

Every organization needs a clear, grounded vision that gets it where it needs to go. The 5 Year Plan was once king of strategy, but five years has always been a long time. We’ve traded the once-gold standard for a pile of jargon that feels far more corporate than organic to many nonprofits.

Strategic planning with Victoria is geared specifically for the nonprofit space and attuned to each client’s culture. Do you have a board led by corporate moguls who prefer the safety of familiar jargon? Let’s make it happen. Are you a community-based organization that has been shifting priorities yearly, weekly, daily as necessary before “agile” was a brand name? We’ll build the right framework (without the bells and whistles) that keeps you on track.

Using virtual tools that keep costs low, Victoria will build services to meet your organization’s needs, including but not limited to:

  • Facilitated virtual meetings

  • Listening sessions with staff, volunteers, clients, and/or constituents

  • Assessments of cultural, leadership, financial, operational capacity, and more

  • Workload, budgetary, and impact projections

  • Focused planning for program management, fund development, communications, and more

  • Social enterprise planning for generating program revenue

Highlights

  • Developed a grant funding strategy for an established nonprofit that had previously relied only on individual donations and corporate sponsors. Strategy accounted for staff capacity for writing applications and managing awards; organization-wide events; and current and future funding needs.

  • Advised nascent nonprofits on organizational and development strategy during pre-501c3 phase of operations. Deliverables included board recruitment strategy and fund development plans.

  • Created and implemented a long-term strategy for a revenue-generating department of a large nonprofit. Plan integrated with larger organizaton’s mission, vision, and 5-year strategic plan, while accounting for staff capacity, available capital, and seasonality of revenue streams.
